Accounts Department

Department Overview:

Headed up by Marzena Golinska (Finance Manager) the Accounts department is responsible for accounts payable, receivable, monthly invoices to customers, finance contracts with banks, monthly management reports, VAT returns and general accounts reconciliations.

  • Account Assistant
  • An Accounting Assistant coordinates daily workload, processes timely and accurately routine administrative/accounting transactions and all related tasks.They ensure the delivery of a high quality product. Recommend improvements to existing procedures & processes.

    Responsibilities

    • Assisting in preparation of monthly Accounts & Management Reports
    • Responsibility for issuing invoices
    • Accounts payable
    • General ledger journals
    • Balance Sheet reconciliations
    • General reconciliation
    • Ad hoc responsibilities as directed by management
    • General office duties


    Skills required for this position:

    • Some accounts experience
    • Communication and interpersonal skills
    • Accuracy - Attention to detail
    • Computer Skills- Excel, Word
    • Be able to multi task
    • Must have fluent English
    • Must be able to work under pressure

    Client Relations Department

    Department Overview:

    Headed up by Sarah Johnston (Client Relations Director) the Client Relations department is responsible for managing the relationship with our existing customers.
    Each Manager/Senior/Account Manager is responsible for a number of accounts. They act as the first point of contact for our main client contact for any requests or queries. They are also responsible for arranging client reviews, providing management reports and managing the new vehicle renewal process.

    • Account Manager & Senior Account Manager
    • Account Managers & Senior Account Managers manage the relationship with our clients. The Account Manager is the main/first contact for their accounts and attends the reviews for all clients.

      Responsibilities

      • Understanding how each of their accounts operate and ensure on an ongoing basis that everything is working from both sides, i.e. Client & Merrion.
      • Building a strong relationship with their clients.
      • Proactively proposing new changes to the fleet policy to ensure the customers spend is reduced and health and safety issues are covered.
      • Attending regular reviews. Ensure that all reviews are carried out on time and that all requested work following on from the review is completed in the shortest possible time.
      • Ensuring customer queries and issues are dealt with in the quickest possible timeframe and know when to escalate an issue to the Client Relations manager/Director.
      • Reporting to Clients Relations Manager



      Operations Department

      Department Overview:

      Headed up by Graham Armstrong (Operations Manager) the Operations Department is responsible for managing all of our driver’s operational requirements. Drivers call into this department for all requirements including services, maintenance, tyres, accidents etc. The team will then arrange whatever work is required on the vehicle, deal with the supplier, make the arrangements and authorise the work. They are also responsible for managing Merrion’s supplier network.


    • Senior Technical & Driver Services Coordinator
    • The Senior Technical and Drivers Services Coordinators as well as dealing with drivers directly are responsible for assisting other members of the team with any technical queries or mechanical issues that arise on a daily basis

      Responsibilities

      • Dealing with drivers – booking services, car hire, breakdowns etc.
      • Dealing with suppliers – controlling costs, discounts, rebates etc.
      • Dealing with customer contacts – queries, reporting etc.
      • Oversee and assist with the passing of invoices
      • Reporting (both internal and external)
      • Reporting to Customer Services Manager



      Sales Department

      Department Overview:

      Headed up by David Wilkinson (Sales Director) the sales department is responsible for increasing the company’s overall customer base while ensuring that we retain all of our existing customers.


    • Sales Executive
    • Duties include;

      • Replying to RFIs and RFQs
      • Preparing sales quotations and sales presentations
      • Dealing with incoming sales calls
      • Attend sales presentations
      • Develop new leads by attending functions / cold calls / networking
      • Manage Website & Newslette
